BROMO
EAST JAVA PHOTO

“In April of 2008 I took a trip to East Java-Indonesia. Mount Bromo was my dream place to see. There is perhaps no other volcanic terrain in the world that can compare with East Java’s spectacular Tengger Region. At the center of this upland massif lies an ancient caldera measuring 10 km of sheer, grass-colored cliffs surrounding a black windswept ‘sea of sand.’ Sunrise here is awesome, but to get the most breathtaking view we have to reach ‘Mount Penanjakan’ as the view point. I went up there very early in the morning (about 4am). On the top of Penanjakan I found a lot of people. Unbelievable! And it was so difficult to find a free space to take a picture. After sunrise when the fog began to clear up, I  jumped out of the fence, very carefully stood among the bushes. Then I got this one!”
